Is the Digital Nomad Visa the replacement for the Golden Visa?
It is often the practical answer for the same person, but it is a different permit with different criteria. The Golden Visa asked what you owned; the nomad visa asks what you do and who pays you. If your income is passive rather than earned, it will not fit and the non-lucrative route is the one to look at.
Can I switch from a nomad visa to something else later?
Changes of status are possible but they are applications in their own right, decided on the criteria of the new route at the time. Planning the sequence at the outset — including how the years count towards long-term residence — usually produces a better outcome than improvising at each renewal.
