Torrevieja is one of only four places in Spain with a CREADE — the state reception, assistance and referral centre for people displaced from Ukraine. It is the centre that serves the whole Alicante province, and it is the reason many families arriving on the Costa Blanca are documented far faster than they expected.
A CREADE is not a queue at a police station. It combines the protection application with the practical follow-on steps in one place: the residence-and-work document, a social security number, a health card, and referral onward. If you are anywhere in the province, this is where the process should start rather than at a generic Extranjería appointment.
The centre works by prior telephone appointment. We help with what to bring — passports or any identity document you still hold, documents for children, and evidence of the date you left Ukraine — because an incomplete file is what turns one visit into three.

Do I have to live in Torrevieja to use the CREADE there?
No. The Torrevieja centre serves the whole of Alicante province and receives people arriving from further afield too. What matters is getting an appointment, not your address at the moment you apply.
What happens after the CREADE issues my protection?
Temporary protection gives you the right to live and work in Spain, but it does not by itself put you into the local systems. Empadronamiento at the Ayuntamiento de Torrevieja, school places, and registering with a doctor are separate local steps, and they are where most people get stuck once the initial relief wears off.
